PowerX and Vantage Towers Partner to Digitise 220 Rural Sites Across Germany For Intelligent Monitoring and Energy Optimisation

London, 19th March 2026 – PowerX Technology and Vantage Towers today announced a joint partnership to utilise PowerX’s AI platform, bringing dependable, real-time telemetry and visibility to Vantage’s rural sites across Germany - the vast majority of which operate off-grid.

The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening operational resilience across Vantage Tower’s off-grid portfolio. While the current deployment focuses on foundational monitoring, it lays the groundwork for broader optimisation. Historically, site batteries were treated purely as emergency back-up assets. With PowerX, those batteries can now be integrated into a hybridised power strategy, operating as active components within the energy system to reduce diesel consumption and improve efficiency.

The project was accelerated by the widespread grid instability and heat-driven blackouts experienced in Spain and Portugal in 2025, which underscored the vulnerability of off-grid and weak-grid infrastructure. By digitalising its German portfolio, Vantage Towers is proactively reinforcing network robustness to ensure continued uptime even during extreme weather or grid outages.
As part of the programme, PowerX is profiling and conditioning battery assets to build detailed autonomy and performance data across the portfolio. These insights will inform Vantage Towers’ forthcoming CapEx decisions, helping right-size new power equipment, identify underperforming generators and batteries, and direct investment to the sites where it will deliver the greatest resilience and efficiency gains.
